6.39" FHD+ AMOLED Screen

Xiaomi Mi 9 is equipped with a 19:9 aspect ratio Samsung AMOLED display of 6.39 inches. The screen delivers FHD+ resolution of 2280x 1080 pixels, which offers an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 90.7 percent. The Mi 9 has 103.8 percent NTSC super wide color gamut and up to 600 nits of brightness.

There are also a bunch of optimizations for different usage scenarios such as night mode and game mode. It also features a second-generation "sun-screen" that has better color reproduction and brightness under strong light. Xiaomi has also upgraded eye protection mode on Mi 9 to "256 steps" with smooth transitions. Mi 9 will come Corning Gorilla Glass 6th generation on the front.

48MP+16MP+12MP Rear Cameras and A 20MP Front Camera

Xiaomi Mi 9 packs tripe rear cameras, 48MP Sony IMX 586 + 12MP Telephoto + 16MP Wide-Angle. The 48MP Sony IMX586 quad-sensor is with 0.8µm pixels, f/1.75-aperture. The 12MP telephoto sensor is Samsung S5K3M5 with 1.0µm pixels, f/2.2-aperture and 50mm-equivalent focal length. The ultra-wide angle sensor is 16MP one which is the Sony IMX481 sensor with f/2.2-aperture. The phone has PDAF/laser autofocus, LED flash and can shoot video at the highest resolution of 2160p/30fps video. The camera lens also has a Sapphire cover, which is scratch resistant.

The 20-megapixel selfie camera is placed inside the notch. Apart from 3D facial recognition, it offers features like 3D Beauty, 10 kinds of AI scene detection, mirror function and HDR.

Xiaomi Mi 9 supports super slow-motion video at 960 fps.

The Mi 9 has an in-display fingerprint reader that enables users to unlock the phone simply touch and scan fingerprint sensor embedded that is embedded in its display. Xiaomi claims that since the display of the phone is equipped with a highly sensitive pressure sensor, it can instantly scan and unlock the phone by touching on the screen gently. Hence, a user does not require to press harder on the screen to unlock it.
